Artists are rare and beatnik artist are even rarer. One such artist needs to be noted in the anals of art history Ronald Von Ehmsen. Or Von 57 as known to his friends. Born in the city of aristocratic German stock Ron was destine for a life only cut out for an artist. Gifted with the likness of Jesus Christ himself Von's life was as full of color as it was with women, as much danger as his tragic and short life would aclaim. He would follow a path that only stories can be told and the romance of an artist can partake.

Whats to be said about Ron Von Ehmsen. Was he a good man, a bad, those who knew liked him, but Ron was his own man. Rebelious as all get out he was a work in motion. My understanding was that he never sat still literaly moving, smoking, thinking working, althought Ron's work was usually spent getting others to do somrthing for him, thats just the New York sort of way. I have a friend Jack who's from the city and that how he is, he works all day getting others to do his bidding, c'est la vie. Ron's work his poetry and painting could well be scattered about bits of it ended up in the hands of his friend Ed Gordon and a few of his poem and notes are still at hand. I saw a sculpture of a man and woman some years ago but was sold before I could afford it myself, I was able to aquire the painting on this page.
